FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOOKING FOR AN AUSTRALIAN TIGER (NASCA)– AUG. 10 th 2005, Sydney, QLD Australia

National Aboriginal Sports Corporation Australia (NASCA) of Sydney, Australia, is very excited to announce that its golf program, “Hunting For An Australia Tiger” is selected by Hole In One Productions, LLC, a California, USA golf related production company, as their “Etourgolf.com World Charity Golf Challenge” benefactor of charitable contributions received from registration and sales generated in Australia.

NASCA’s Hunting For An Australia Tiger Golf Program

In late 1996 NASCA launched the “Hunting For An Australia Tiger” golf program with the specific aims of introducing young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to the game of golf and encouraging them to take up the game on a regular basis. Through golfing workshops, competitions and events in Aboriginal communities, the program identifies talented Aboriginal golfers for specialized coaching, intensive training and development, access to employment in the golf industry and golf scholarships. Through a partnership with the PGA, a national network of young club professionals conducts golf clinics for these young kids in schools and out in remote communities providing them with personal mentorship and guidance to achieve their goals.

Since its inception hundreds of Aboriginal children have participated in the program and many have received scholarships through the John Brown Sports and Tourism Youth Foundation. One of NASCA’s golf traineeship graduates, Michael Williams, now holds the position of Functions and Events Coordinator at the NSW Golf Club in Sydney, playing off a handicap of 2, and nearing completion of a law degree.

We are very honored and excited to be one of Etourgolf’s benefactors and a participant in this world class event. Etourgolf’s contribution to our program will assist us considerably in our continued endeavor to introduce Aboriginal youth to the game of golf. Without the continued support from our sponsors, donors and volunteers we would not be able to accomplish our goals”, as quoted by David Liddiard, CEO and founder of NASCA.
